I love Hydrangeas, I am not the best at gardening, but when I moved in there were two big Hydrangea bushes in the garden, and I just adore them, the flowers just last and last when you pick them. I am sure it will not be the last time I paint them!Michelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03087596938900379641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4862917229186807365.post-2031108473670062412012-10-05T07:48:43.470+01:002012-10-05T07:48:43.470+01:00Oh my gosh you are an amazing painter with waterco...Oh my gosh you are an amazing painter with watercolor! I started blogging just a few months ago and my first follower was a Irish girl who calls herself 'Hydrangea Girl'. I'm going to send her a link to this page. We have a small collection of watercolor paintings by an Australian painter here at home and would love to add some of yours to it one day!The Magic Fixhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13893724337331021839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4862917229186807365.post-3417054335789796072012-10-04T18:11:29.669+01:002012-10-04T18:11:29.669+01:00Thank you Judy, I will be sending you a paint brus...Thank you Judy, I will be sending you a paint brush for christmas, so you can remember what they look like... step away from the computer!

Well Janice you may not paint glass much, but I know you paint water often, and very well too!Michelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03087596938900379641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4862917229186807365.post-88862952074643940232012-10-04T18:03:48.034+01:002012-10-04T18:03:48.034+01:00Very nice paintings, Its something I did years ago...Very nice paintings, Its something I did years ago but haven't tackled it since, may be I should revisit it Janice Ashworthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13664177031515405967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4862917229186807365.post-80268817844265321452012-10-04T16:51:17.575+01:002012-10-04T16:51:17.575+01:00I love your second attempt, Michele - it looks so ...I love your second attempt, Michele - it looks so much more alive than the first one! I should think it will get snapped up at the first opportunity.

I've found that with painting glass, it's best not to think about it too much (just as inkyprints' teacher said)and sometimes it works unexpectedly well. Must admit I'm currently so addicted to playing with my patterns in Photoshop - and decorating my house with them (virtually!) that real painting has taken a back seat for a while.

Judy Adamsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02986456665704994228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4862917229186807365.post-40421479500606270732012-10-04T13:05:34.863+01:002012-10-04T13:05:34.863+01:00Thank you, yes that is the trick, to see it as a s...Thank you, yes that is the trick, to see it as a series of shapes and colours, and in the end to simplify it, because every time you look you see something else, and you can't put it all in.Michelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03087596938900379641noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4862917229186807365.post-39326632751026952012012-10-04T12:48:41.221+01:002012-10-04T12:48:41.221+01:00I love it - I too prefer the second. I remember being a keen 12 year old asking my art teacher, how to paint glass (jam jars and wine bottles I think) and her reply has stuck with me 'paint what you see not the thing itself' - it really helped me see the colours and shapes - a lot of fun but it didn't look like your gorgeous hydrangeas in a vase though.
